140g icing sugar
½ tea spoon vanilla extract
1 large egg yolk
375g plain flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Beat the icing sugar into the butter. I mash it with a fork first so the icing sugar doesn't turn into a cloud. Beat in the egg yolk. Divide the mixture and put half into another bowl.
Mixture 1: beat in the vanilla extract, and then add the flour. Mix until you have a stiff dough, easiest with your hands.
Roll the doughs out until they are about 3mm thick and cut out your shapes. Re roll the cuttings for more shapes or try rolling one dough out on top of the other for two tone biscuits. Roll the last bits of dough together to get a marbled effect.
