130g brown sugar
10 tbl sp golden syrup
300g rolled oats
50g sultanas
50g walnuts
50g glace cherries
50g crystallised ginger
(Other ingredients that I like to put in flapjack include sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and honey roasted nuts. You can put chocolate chips in, but they have to be quite big otherwise they melt.)
Preheat the oven to gas mark 5. Grease or line a 8in square tin.
Melt together butter, sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan large enough to fit in the rest of the ingredients. Warm gently while stirring occasionally until the sugar is melted.
Score the surface where you intend to cut it while it is still warm, then leave to cool in the tin. Cut up when cold.
